Getting my old cantilever breaks to work on my new suspension forks

Just upgraded to suspension forks on my GT mt bike. Everything went well until I realized that my front break cable housing fits into a cradle at the headset. With the suspension travel, I will loose breaking power. I need a cradle at the stiffener on the fork but the way my breaks are, there isn't enough room. Any ideas?
