Steering shaft size

Hey,

I have a 2007 Iron Horse Maverick 3.0. It came with a suntour xcm 80mm fork, I am replacing it with a RockShox Tora 302 I got a wicked deal on. However the steering shaft on the Rockshox widens slightly at the bottom and I dont think the crown from the xcm is going to fit, but someone else told me they are an universal size? Any thoughts?
